The Purple Ladies

The Purple Ladies are committed to building happy, creative communities, believing everyone can benefit from creativity in their lives. They bring performances, events and workshops to different locations for people of all ages, wanting their work to be accessible to all.

They use circus, mime, and dance to create visual and mesmerising performances that are fun, inspiring and thought-provoking.

They collaborate with a diverse pool of artists across the creative sector as well as with members of the wider community and aim to support emerging talent.

Between one another, they exchange ideas, swap roles of director and performer, challenge and support each other like a family.

The Purple Ladies began in 2010 at Peckham’s artist-led Area 10 Project Space in order to commemorate the passing of lilac-loving actress and movement director, Linda Dobell.

The Purple Ladies is registered as a Community Interest Company, No. 13803719
