Move, Share and Exchange is The Purple Ladies' latest community engagement programme and aims to create a non-judgmental and safe space that celebrates self-expression, active living and community building in an area greatly affected by poverty.

It is held at the Cossall estate TRA hall in Queens Road Peckham every Wednesday since October 2023 and offers the following for free:

  • Women-only exercise and movement classes for all abilities
  • Well-being / creative sessions open to all
  • Healthy vegetarian meal cooking sessions and lunch / food sharing.

Throughout the day we initiate conversations and prompt check-ins to raise awareness on a wide range of topics from recycling and sustainability to women’s menopause, physical & mental health and nurturing families. We encourage individual members to talk about issues they may be struggling with in their lives, to share knowledge, to offer advice or to simply listen in support.

We work towards co-creating performances, exhibitions and social events together with the participants which gives the group a purpose through which to develop an artistic skill, build confidence and a support network between the participating groups itself.
